"Nut" Another Breakfast Shake
Breakfast shakes are oh so delicious and you can be so creative with them. This one is a very almond-y shake and I love it! Almonds are my favorite nuts and I try to incorporate them in my meals as much as I can. Did you know.... A fistful of raw almonds (~7) a day are good for your heart, brain function, has the good fats (monounsaturated fats), calcium, fiber and magnesium. I like to call them the alpha nut!

Banana-Date Drink
My mom loves making this drink for a mid-afternoon snack. I also enjoy it for breakfast because it really fills you up. Its simple and fast and super delicious! The best part is that it does not need any extra sugar because the banana and dates sweeten the drink perfectly. The hint of cardamom and nutmeg takes this drink to another level! Its almost has a chai like flavor to it.

Key Lime Pie Smoothie
This is a modified recipe adapted from a friend of a friend's recipe. The original recipe had more lime zest and lime juice (3-4 limes) but I chose to just add one to please my taste buds. You can certainly add more tartness as you desire but I was happy with just using the zest and juice of one lime. This smoothie was super refreshing and very filling...a great way to start your day with the bursting flavors that will wake you right up...and what a great way to use avocados!

CREAM CHEESE WITH CHIVES
I decided to jazz up our classic bagel breakfast recipe by adding chives to the cream cheese. Chives have a perfect oniony flavor with a tiny hint of garlic.

I made this super easy warm chard-red quinoa salad in less than 15 minutes for a quick lunch. Its loaded with garlic and I topped it with tomatoes to add some freshness. You can add other veggies for more color and taste, add an egg, grilled tofu…this has endless possibilities!!

Edamame with Matcha Salt
Instead of using plain sea salt for the edamame pods, I added matcha to it. This instantly made my mid-afternoon snack extra special.

Apricot Jam
I love spring/summer for all the fresh fruits we get to eat! I saw these beautiful apricots at Whole Foods and grabbed a few hoping to make a chutney. I was planning a dinner party with some friends so I figured I’d kill two birds with one stone, I put together a cheese platter just so I could use my new cheese board I got as a birthday gift last year and I made apricot jam instead of chutney to go with the cheese.

Goat Cheese & Fig Pizza
Creativity was at its peak and I came up with this combination. I thought the pizza turned out to be a bit dry so I'd add caramelized onions next time. Just melt 1 tbsp unsalted butter in a non-stick pan and cook 1/4 cup sliced yellow onion until they turn light brown.
