Really Crazy Good Brussel Sprouts
This is my favorite brussel sprouts recipe, and tends to become that for anyone I serve them to as well! Plus, these molasses sprouts are incredibly easy.

Pan con Tomate with Fried Eggs Breakfast
Pan con Tomate is a favorite snack during tomato season (when I'm not having a tomato sandwich Merrill-style) , and I like it at Breakfast too. Easy recipe!

Baguette with Chevre Scrambled Eggs and Chives
I love chives with eggs, so of course this is one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches. Chevre adds creamy tang to the eggs and they all get piled onto a bit of nice crusty baguette for a lovely summery morning meal.

Leeks with peas and bacon
Somehow I forgot about this recipe until this moment, in spite of the fact that I make it as a side dish once every couple of weeks. It's terribly simple, but packs a lot of flavor and is as good as a side dish (for almost anything, but especially roast chicken or fish) as it is a filling for an omelet the next day. I have a feeling I saw a picture of leeks with peas and bacon somewhere once and seized upon the idea, but I have no idea where it originally came from. I'm glad I have it though!

The Mamie Taylor (A Dark And Stormy With Whiskey)
The Mamie Taylor is one of my favorite drink recipes. It's similar to a Dark 'n Stormy but made with rye whiskey instead of rum and topped with ginger beer.

Garam Masala Yogurt Dip
I'd hardly consider this a recipe, it's so simple and easy. But, it's one of my favorite dips, especially for sweet potato wedges or chips. - fiveandspice

Dark As The Night Truffles
I don't really do much by the way of candy. Except for truffles. When I studied abroad in Paris, we were each allotted a certain amount of "cultural money" to spend on cultural experiences and improving our language over the course of the semester. Most people spent a lot of time in museums, etc. I went to my fair share of museums, but a large chunk of my money went to a wine tasting class, buying cookbooks, and a chocolate making class at La Maison de Chocolat, where I took copious notes as I learned to make a perfect chocolate ganache. The trick, really is all in the quality of chocolate, and in the stirring technique. I like my truffles quite simple, with plain dark chocolate. You can also flavor them by simmering the cream with cinnamon sticks or zest or other flavorings for a few minutes, then straining it and letting it cool before proceeding. - fiveandspice

Guilty pleasure lunch
Okay, I wasn't going to share this because I'm slightly embarrassed by how not balanced this is to eat for lunch, but it's delicious and I love it, and I do eat it for lunch, so I figured I'd share in case anyone else occasionally likes to indulge with something that's pretty much a dessert as their midday main course!

Lime rickey with sweet basil
I almost never drink anything other than coffee, wine or beer (oh, and water, of course!)...unless it is made with lime juice. After moving to the East Coast, I developed a penchant for lime rickeys. They're a refreshing summer drink, made even more delicious and refreshing with the addition of some muddled herbs. Mint is, of course, good, but I love the mild licorice punch added by using sweet basil. And, if you want to add a splash of rum or vodka, I definitely won't stop you!
