Iced Mint and Citrus Tea
This recipe is inspired by a tea I get every Saturday at my local Greenmarket -- as my mother would say, I "diagnosed" and then "reproduced!"

White Bean, Summer Squash and Tomato Ragout
Serve this hearty ragout on its own or with pasta or whole grains.

Blueberry Basil Infused Vodka
Made with simmered blueberries and leafy basil, this recipe's complex vodka infusion captures the essence of summer. Fresh, light and wonderfully fragrant.

Roy Choi’s Pico de Gallo
This quick, easy recipe comes from Roy Choi, the Los Angeles chef behind the Kogi food trucks. Here, a heaping tablespoon of Chinese chili bean sauce (toban djan) or Korean chili bean paste (gochujang) adds a twist on a traditional pico de gallo. Serve alongside a carne asada taco, or pair with tortilla chips for a truly delicious weeknight meal.

Goat Cheese & Fig Pizza
Creativity was at its peak and I came up with this combination. I thought the pizza turned out to be a bit dry so I'd add caramelized onions next time. Just melt 1 tbsp unsalted butter in a non-stick pan and cook 1/4 cup sliced yellow onion until they turn light brown.

Rutabaga "Cacio e Pepe"
I was pleasantly surprised the first time I made thinly sliced rutabaga cooked with nothing but toasty black pepper and butter. The flavors were earthy, sweet and complex and I ate a whole platter. We make noodles out of all sorts of vegetables (zucchini, carrot) and I wanted to try the same with the rutabaga. Thinking of that peppery goodness, I decided to try to make a version of the Italian cacio e pepe dish which is basically fresh pasta tossed with pasta water, cheese and pepper. I knew the rutabaga would not hold up to the vigorous stirring or have the starch required for the creamy sauce, but figured the flavors would be excellent and this dish did not disappoint. I served it with grilled pork chops with a peach gastrique and bitter green salad. Earthy, summery goodness.
Cafe Amande
A cocktail inspired by my morning cup of coffee. Infusing almond milk and coffee liqueur this cocktail packs the punch you need. I can’t stand to be wasteful and the end of the coffee pot in the morning or the last of the vanilla almond milk is no exception. I like to save the last little drops of yumminess and freeze them into ice cubes for this cocktail. Cheers!

Heirloom tomato salad with fresh mozzarella, watermelon and mint
My new favorite flavor combination is tomato and mint. With watermelon and a scoop of mozzarella, it's a light summer lunch. Burrata is hard to come by in my neck of the woods, but if you can get it, use it instead of the mozzarella

Cantaloupe with honey, mint & lime
The combination of honey, mint and lime is the best way I know to brighten up an early- or late-season melon. Use a mild honey such as orange blossom.

Beets with Pistachios and Mint
Beets with Pistachios and Mint is my attempt to recreate the dish that impressed me at a friend's wedding. It is incredibly simple: roasted beets marinated in mild vinegar served atop a small pool of creme fraiche and topped with roasted pistachios. The beet juice mixes every so slightly with the creme fraiche, so that when you scoop up a serving the colors mix into a beautiful swirly pink. The pistachios add a pleasant crunch and the mint perfumes the dish. It is a perfect simple side dish for summer.

Elderflower Julep
The jumping off point for this is a classic mint julep. I've added grapefruit juice for its balanced sweet-tart-bitterness, and St. Germain elderflower liqueur, because frankly, I'm enamored with it. The resulting concoction is fresh and boozy, and perfect for a hot summer evening.
Coffee-Coco Mint Frappe
The addition of blueberries in this frappe may seem odd but it lends a delicate fruity flavor without overpowering the main ingredients. It works well and it’s divine!

Marinated mint zucchini salad
When zucchini season hits, I can't get enough of them in raw marinated salads. This year the first zucchinis came ouit the same week that I decided to invest in an herb garden. Luckily mint grows like a weed so I haven't killed my plant yet (my cilantro is another story...). This recipe does require a mandoline (the cheap ones are fine...just watch your fingers) or really strong knife skills because the salad is best with very thin slices of zucchini and onion.

Corn Tortillas
Watermelon Lassi
My boys and I just love, LOVE the fresh summer flavors in this watermelon lassi: watermelon, lime, mint and yogurt. For a lighter drink, you can leave out the yogurt; for a cooler treat, you can freeze this mix in popsicle molds!

Scallion and Parmesan Buttered Crostini
A sliced and toasted baguette spread with a generous amount of butter is my idea of a perfect snack, appetizer or accompaniment to any meal. One day, however, I decided to try adding scallions and parmesan to softened butter, and stumbled upon something delicious without being fussy or overly-seasoned.
Does this still count as lemonade?
It is hot. This entire week I haven't wanted to leave my house because it is too darn hot. I needed something for long hard walk (about 10 minutes and I get to stroll through two gardens) to work. This is what I came up with, it's delicious to drink on my way to work, and once I get there I can pull out my fork and go for the fruit which is pleasantly cold and lemony. I put mine in a mason jar because it looks cute and packs easily, but you could use a water bottle or just a glass instead.

Avocado dressing
This is so simple I hardly call it a recipe. Yet it is one of my Summer staples when I am making tasty, healthy ,quick Summer salads. Avocados are such a perfect fruit that I hate to do much to disguise their creamy, nutty flavor and this dressing stays true to that premise. I usually use Hass avocados ,the dark pebbly looking ones that have the best flavor(in my opinion).
Indonesian Avocado and Chocolate Shake
I know this sounds like a crazy idea, but Avocado Chocolate Shakes are as popular in Indonesia as strawberry-banana smoothies are in the US. Try this recipe!

Fluffy Strawberry Buttercream
I have yet to find the perfect strawberry cake recipe, but was pair this buttercream with a light vanilla cake and you feel completely satisfied with your strawberry craving.
Ruby Red Currant and Rhubarb Tart
This tart was created because of an abundance of red currants in my friend's back yard. The rhubarb and currants work together to make a tart (pun NOT intended) filling. Be aware: this tart is very juicy, so serve with a spoon and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!

Avocado & Tomato Salad
A simple Italian style salad

Fresh Picked Cherries with Limoncello
Fresh picked cherries macerated in homemade limoncello, it doesn't get much better than that! A perfect combination of sweet & tart and to top it off with a spoonful of whipped cream!

Avocado, Strawberry, and Mango Salad
This is not your average fruit salad recipe. This avocado, strawberry, and mango salad is fresh, sweet, creamy, tangy, and quick to make. And it's oh-so easy!
