Strawberry Pineapple Fool
This is a luscious, creamy dessert with fresh strawberries and sweet pineapple all folded into a whipped cream. This pineapple fool recipe is so tasty!

Fragrant Chai Poached Pears
Pears poached tender in aromatic chai spices with sweet chai syrup and blackberries

Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse With Fleur de Sel
This is an intense, creamy one-ingredient chocolate mousse adapted from the molecular gastronomist Hervé This. The nearly instant recipe contains no cream or eggs, so a complex chocolate can shine. The mousse serves four, and it can be doubled. But even if you’re serving two, don’t be tempted to halve it. More of our favorite Valentine's Day recipes can be found here.

Raw, Vegan, Peanut Butter Cookies
I am terrible at baking because it's way precise...I much prefer savory because it's all to taste and is more forgiving. The best thing about these cookies found here (http://www.ahouseinthehills.com/ahouseinthehills/2013/1/14/raw-vegan-salted-peanut-butter-cookies.html) are that they involve 5 ingredients & can be tweaked and adjusted if you run out of one ingredient or want to make more or less. Plus they take about 5 minutes to make and are raw & vegan & salty.

Iced Tea Granita
What a lovely summer treat! This Tea Granita is so easy to make and has such a refreshing bite. I like that the recipe allows for creativity & personal taste.

Salted Toffee & Brown Butter Crispy Treats
The extra butter is this buttery toffee rice krispie recipe keeps them soft and easy to press into the pan, and did I mention that the butter is browned?

Valrhona's Caramelized White Chocolate
This pale, sweet, arguably boring white chocolate recipe is carmelized with three ingredients with a lot of potential -- sugar, milk, and fatty cocoa butter.

Vegan, Sugar Free Chocolate Persimmon (Cup) Cake
I have been experimenting with a black bean brownie/cookie recipe when I stumbled upon another brownie recipe using sweet potatoes instead of black beans. I had a basketful of persimmons (a family friend has a tree and is ecstatic to unload their harvest on us-- lucky me!), so attempted to replace the baked sweet potato with a somewhat firm persimmon. It didn't come out like I wanted so I opted for an all overly ripe persimmon recipe which makes this chocolate cake recipe very dense.

Mousse au Chocolat
Ok - this is not my recipe. This is pretty much the recipe from the back of plain ol' chocolate bars in France, and honest-to-goodness, it's the one most Parisians use. I swear! It's dead simple to make (the hardest part is remembering to leave the butter out to soften), but it always impresses. My kind of recipe.

Dark Chocolate Frozen Peanut Butter-Banana Bites

Indian Fudge (Besan Barfi)
Besan Barfi is Indian fudge, which is made in most Indian households during the festival of Diwali. It's very delicious, takes just minutes to make, and is also gluten-free. I have added a twist by decorating the barfi with chocolate. Traditionally, we garnish it with watermelon seeds or a dry nut called "charoli."

candied orange rinds dipped in dark chocolate
Sweet, tangy, fresh candied Orange Rinds dipped in a luxuriously silky & bitter Dark Chocolate with a hint of vanilla. Can also be made with grapefruit peel.

roasted almonds & sea salt chocolate bark

White Chocolate and Fennel Truffles
The fennel combined with the sea salt flakes cuts through the richness of the white chocolate ganache and makes this a lovely recipe and after dinner treat.

How to Make Buckeye's
My Mom’s Buckeye recipe. She always made them every Christmas and my son Jimmy loves them.

Chocolate Pomegranate Truffles
I love this recipe -- these Truffles present beautifully and I love the use of Pomegranate molasses with the chocolate. I would certainly make these again!

Belgian Rice Pie
A typical Belgian desert. Belgians families and friends love to get together on Sunday afternoon to eat pies of all kinds and this is one of them. I usually make the pie crust myself as well.

5-Ingredient Apple Pie
This straightforward recipe for apple pie is from the vegan chef and cookbook author Chloe Coscarelli. It calls for storebought crusts, so you really can throw it together and have it in the oven in about 15 minutes.

Homemade Pumpkin Purée
Homemade Pumpkin Purée is super easy and the little bit of extra effort is well worth it.

Chocolate Soufflé With Candied Squash
In this intensely rich recipe, you’ll jazz up a fudgy chocolate soufflé cake with crème fraîche and candied, cinnamon-scented butternut squash, turning a decadent dessert into something stunningly autumnal. The key to a soufflé is in handling your ingredients gently, so keep a close watch on the heat and cooking time. Cover your baked cake with the crème fraîche and your cooled butternut squash that has been simmered in a cinnamon honey syrup, and serve it in thin slivers. It’s the perfect chocolatey finish to a feast.

Wine-Poached Pears Baked in Custard Cream
I wanted a simple homey dish of pears baked in cream. I flipped through Martha Stewart's Pies and Tarts: a pear tart provided the basis for the poaching liquid. I had an open bottle of wine to use up. There wasn't nearly enough in there--is there ever?-- so I opened a second bottle of same. This in itself was cause for celebration, so I raised a glass and sampled some. Immediately things fell into place--oops! I forged tipsily ahead. For the cream sauce I referred to a new book on my shelf, Gâteaux from the Fait Maison series for a sort of crème Anglais, sans eggs. Here is the happy result. Let me know how you like it!
Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée

Grape Bubbles
Frozen grapes are an easy, quick nutritious treat. To me, they look like bubbles on the plate. This is a mix of Concord, Muscat, and black grapes.
Grape Fool
Adapted from the recipe for Grapes with Brown Sugar and Sour Cream in James Beard’s American Cookery and inspired by my dunking a grape directly into the container of sour cream, then into the sugar bowl, and popping it right into my mouth. This is way more classy.
