Muhammara / Roasted Bell Pepper and Walnut Dip

Raw White Corn and Arugula Salad
There is nothing better than sweet corn in the summer. This is a simple salad that features this warm weather staple. I love to make it as a side for barbecues and picnics.

Red Bean Topping (for Shaved Ice or Ice Cream)
Unlike red bean paste -- the smooth, mashed filling found in mooncakes, steamed buns, and mochi -- this is a red bean topping similar to the azuki bean topping used over Korean patbingsoo. The beans are largely intact, boiled tender in water and sugar, and preserved with syrup. It can be used to flavor ice cream or to top shaved ice (or both!)

Perfect Corn Soup
Sweet corn kernels are stripped of their cobs and blended with a lovely amount of homemade corn stock. After straining through cheesecloth, it is thickened on the stove like a custard. Served in the summer evenings or for lunch, I top mine with shaved summer truffle or top with fresh herbs.

Spiced Walnut Meringues
These are lovely Walnut Meringue cookies, spiced with cloves & nutmeg, and studded with toasted walnut. The meringue in this recipe is a little squishy inside.

Homemade Pizza Dough
For this homemade pizza dough recipe, make sure you start off with the right water temperature, or else the yeast won’t bloom and you will have to start over.

Springtime Sweet Potato Soup with Coconut and Lemongrass
A light, fresh soup with minimal ingredients. A splash of cider and perfume from lemongrass (or just a squeeze of lemon) make this a bowl of sunshine. Serve with Sriracha for those who want to add a little heat.

ROASTED CHICKEN :: ORANGE, ROSEMARY, GARLIC
Method loosely adapted from Alice Water's The Art o Simple Food. I would urge anyone buying a whole chicken (or any meat for that matter) to seek it out with care by purchasing one that was raised naturally. It will make all the difference in the flavor! It feels easier for me to spend a few extra dollars here knowing that I will get plenty of leftovers and a couple quarts of stock out of the deal.

Coconut Clouds and Strawberries
Enjoy this simply fresh and delicious, dairy-free alternative to strawberries and cream. The coconut is so beautifully thick and creamy already, which makes for a light and easy to 'whip' up dessert. Pun intended.

The Best and Smoothest Hummus
The secret to the best hummus? Peel the chickpea skins! Yes, you may have heard this before, but have you tried it?

Italian Easter Cake-Porridge
As a Jew, I've never celebrated Easter, but when I saw the Food52 recipe for Pastiera Napoletana (http://food52.com/recipes/27744-pastiera-napoletana-neapolitan-wheatberry-and-ricotta-easter-cake) I was intrigued. I'm not much of a cake-eater, but I AM a porridge eater, and the wheat berry portion of this multi-step recipe screamed breakfast to me. This is my adaptation.
